Our proprietary CandleScience EcoBase™ Reed Diffuser Solution is formulated for enhanced performance with CandleScience fragrance and essential oils. This diffuser solution can be used as a reed diffuser base or in passive diffusers like paperboard air fresheners, wood, ceramic, and other porous materials that do not contain electronic or plastic components.

This base flows easily up diffuser reeds to disperse fragrance or essential oil throughout the air. Our formula is optimized to create the strongest throw possible and made with sustainability in mind.

I've purchased multiple bases now - wanting an optimal product before putting my name on it. This EcoBase was the undeniable winner. For example, I tried one from Crafter's Choice where the reviews were raving about the throw. (What throw?) EcoBase has the best throw of all the bases I've tried -- even when trying different ratios, rattan vs. fiber reeds, different numbers of reeds, etc. I'm actually glad it turned out that way because I also prefer this eco-consciousness of this formula. Heading to buy more now!

Did Not Work for Me

I bought mine and it never worked. I mixed everything by proportion suggested by Candle Science and different fragrance oils that are compatible with Reed diffusers. However, nothing worked and it has been standing in my bathroom for months without evaporating. I changed reeds a couple of times and it didn’t help. I did not smell anything, not even in a small area. Such a waste of money on the solution and wasted fragrance oil.

Nice Choice if Eco Friendly Is Your Branding Choice

This is easy to use and I'm satisfied with the throw I am getting from fruit and wood scents in my 8 ml car diffuser bottles. I'm still working on enhancements for the ocean scents to improve throw. Any scent above 25% safety rating in 10A can be made to work, but as in candles, tests are needed to find the sweet spot in the ratio of diffuser solution to fragrance oil. I find the aquatics require more than the baseline recommendation of 25%. Florals safe at 15% are throwing well enough too.

What I appreciate most is that I can state "biodegradable" and "eco friendly" on my packaging. It's Prop 65 compliant and requires no warning. SCORE! LOL.

It seems like a good base to use and got good reviews with customers and a YouTube review but I can't seem to find directions how to use it properly. I'm currently doing a 3:1 ratio (so 3 oz. base 1 oz. fragrance- so the usage rate for a FO would be 25%) But then I just read a comment one one of the answers that says there's a suggested 15% usage rate so I'm confused lol
